Abbey Archives

The Saint John's Abbey Archives seeks to collect, preserve and make available materials that illustrate the history, lifestyle and activities of the monastery, its members, and those whom the monastery served.

To fulfill this mission, the abbey archives strives:

1. To appraise, collect, organize, describe, preserve, and provide access to records of permanent administrative, legal, fiscal, and historical value

2. To provide facilities for the retention, preservation, servicing, and research of such records

3. To serve as a research center for the scholarly study of the monastic life as lived at Saint John's

4. To provide information services to help in the administration and operation of the abbey

5. To serve in a public relations capacity by promoting knowledge and understanding of the heritage and ongoing history of Saint John's Abbey

Hours
Researchers may visit the abbey archives during morning work hours, Monday through Friday. All users must register with the Archivist for an appointment in advance.
