Fourth Annual Brown Family Retreat

Curtis Brown and members of his extended family and friends completed a fourth annual retreat at Saint John’s.

Curtis writes, “This last year, we had just over 20 of our family and close friends with us ranging from 14 to mid-60's in age. We braved -18 wind chill to hike to the Stella Maris Chapel and pray the Memorare. We were able to tour the new wood shop and organ studio with Fr. Lew and to meet Mr. Martin Pasi. Fr. Bob Koopman shared with us a beautiful moment of piano and organ music on our first night after Evening Prayer.

There is so much beauty that comes to us in the time and place we spend on retreat at Saint John's! The men - young and old - that were on the retreat can clearly see that only Christ can generate such beauty and peace. It's a beauty and peace that we want more of and look forward to joining the Abbey again next year. God willing even more of our family and friends will experience what we did at Saint John's: when people seek to contribute to the glory of Christ, beauty tends to follow in the wake.
