Saint John’s Abbey and Shrine of Saint Peregrine, Martyr designated place of pilgrimage

Last May, Pope Francis proclaimed a holy year, Jubilee 2025, in the papal bull “Spes Non Confundit,” which means “Hope does not disappoint.” The Holy Year opened at the Vatican on December 24, 2024, and will close on Jan. 6, 2026, the feast of Epiphany. An ancient tradition dictates that the Holy Father proclaims a Jubilee Year every 15 years. Ideally calling all to the Vatican to obtain the Jubilee Indulgence. Many of course, are not able to travel to the Vatican. Therefore, Saint John’s Abbey, along with the Shrine of Saint Peregrine, Martyr, is designated as a place of pilgrimage in the Diocese of Saint Cloud where all the faithful can obtain the Jubilee Indulgence.

The Diocese of Saint Cloud website offers an outstanding explanation of the jubilee tradition, pilgrimages, and our diocese's participation. You will also find further information at the Vatican and USCCB websites.
