Groundbreaking for Holy Family School, Albany
On May 21, 2025, the local Catholic community, joined by Abbot Douglas Mullin, OSB, and several monks of Saint John’s Abbey, celebrated the next phase of Holy Family School’s mission to provide Catholic education and faithfully communicate Catholic values and tradition, with a groundbreaking ceremony to initiate the latest renovation. Founded by the parishioners of Seven Dolors Catholic Church in 1886, the present Holy Family School in Albany was constructed in 1910 and has expanded and been renovated several times over the past 115 years. In an extraordinary show of support, over 400 local community members rallied to raise over 9 million in donations to fund the new addition and renovation in just one year. This heroic effort will, among other needs, preserve and upgrade the existing building with new HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire suppression. Additionally, it will update the kitchen and bathrooms, as well as school safety and accessibility.
